With fuel sold accurately to 0.001 liters, customers are greeted with a bow when they arrive and leave, and car owners receive complimentary windshield and mirror cleaning. These are the factors that have made the Idemitsu Q8 service station a "sensation" just days after starting operations in Vietnam's retail fuel market.

Idemitsu Q8 is a 100% foreign-invested joint venture between Kuwait's Kuwait International Petroleum (Q8) and Japan's Idemitsu Kosan. This joint venture was established over a year ago with each side contributing 50% of the capital. Notably, Idemitsu Q8 currently holds a 35.1% stake in the Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical LLC in Thanh Hoa.

Idemitsu Q8: Japanese Standards – European Standards

In Japan, Idemitsu Kosan is the second largest company in the industry and always prioritizes the principle of 'respect for people' as well as the absolute satisfaction of customers. The Kuwaiti partner owns the Q8 fuel brand, which consumes 450,000 barrels per day worldwide.

Therefore, in the early days of starting retail fuel business in the Vietnamese market, Idemitsu Q8 committed to providing 'Japanese standard' service and 'European standard' fuel quality.

One of the Training Sessions of the Stations

Accordingly, all Idemitsu Q8 Service Stations have a team of staff trained thoroughly in the Japanese service style, who will greet customers with extremely positive attitudes. They will bow deeply to customers both when they arrive and when they leave, and provide free windshield and mirror cleaning for cars. The Service Stations use a software system that allows precise management of fuel quantities down to 0.001 liters, providing detailed transaction reports to customers and ensuring peace of mind against fuel fraud that has occurred at many other gas stations.

In addition, to offer customers more conveniences and unique experiences, Idemitsu Q8 also implements an automated management software system that allows card payments with many superior features.

Modern Equipped Station System

Furthermore, the Idemitsu Q8 gas station system is designed with modern and advanced equipment from Japan, such as Tatsuno pumps, double-layer SF underground fuel tanks manufactured by Tamada Vietnam Company, and a fuel vapor recovery system from Malaysia. These facilities meet all fire safety and environmental protection standards of Vietnam.

With the advantage of being the first 100% FDI enterprise in the retail fuel sector in Vietnam, and based on extensive experience in Japan and Europe, Idemitsu Q8 will leverage the accumulated strengths from many years of fuel business to develop strongly in the Vietnamese market.
